Cat's Cradle

Thanks for coming out ladies....and gentleman. For those of you who couldn't make it, we have decided to read Cat's Cradle as our next book. We decided to pick a book that KV mentioned in A Man Without a Country.

Peace & War,

Amelia-Bedelia,

If your group begins to get tired after two or three of Vonnegut's stranger novels, you might want to read "Welcome to the Monkey House." It's a collection of his short stories written when he was a young author. These stories appeared in magazines like Colliers and Ladies Home Journal when magazines still carried fiction. Some are traditional, some are sci-fi. But the book might make for a nice change of pace at some point.

If Louisiana should ever have a brother, name him Mistersippi.

Best,
Charles

Good heavens! What an attractive bunch! Congratulations on starting the first Kurt Vonnegut book club that I'm aware of. I'm Kurt's biographer. We were working together at the time of his death. Hard to believe there's never been a full-scale biography of him before— never! (He was a little miffed about that.) I hope you'll consider me part of your group in spirit. To complement Kurt's "oodles of charm", I have oodles of information I'd be happy to share.
